Time to Fly

Malang, 12 November 2014

The little bird still remembered his first sight after came out from the egg. “What a bright world!” said one little bird. He saw the blue skies, the white clouds, the green leaves, and of course his mother, brothers and sisters. The little bird was happy he was born in that world. He was also glad that he was not alone.

The little bird was fed very well by his mother. His mother protected him and his family when the storms came. The little bird felt safe and secure. There was nothing to be afraid of. He had siblings that accompanied him every day. They played together. They learnt everything together. Every day was a miracle thought the little bird.

As the time went by, the little bird grew into a big bird. He had a pair of magnificent wings. He had strong feet and beak. His feathers were beautiful. His eyes were bright. He wasn’t a little bird anymore.

But, the little bird didn’t understand about what happened to him. He thought he would be a little bird forever. He and his family would stay together in their lovely home. They would always play together, argue about food, listen to their mother song when the night comes. Everything was not the same anymore. One by one his siblings flew away leaving him behind.

He was alone. He was sad. He wondered, “Why should it be like this? Why do we have to go? Everything is much better here. It’s lonely.”

Bird mother came up. She was still there, waiting for her last kid to fly.

“Why don’t you go? Your brothers and sisters have already flown to the sky.”
“Do I have to go? I want to stay here, with you, even without them.”
“Uh...” Bird mother hugged her son. “Don’t you want to see the world below you? It’s very amazing and beautiful. You’ll like it.”
“Umm...I don’t know. I can see the beautiful world from here.”
“You’ll know soon that everything is much different when you fly by yourself and see the world. You’ll feel the wind that accompanies you to fly. The sun, stars, and moon will guide you to go wherever you want. You’ll see so many places that you’ve never seen. You’ll meet many new friends that you’ve never met before. And someday, you’ll meet a very special one for you whom you want to spend your life with. I know there will be storms and danger waiting for you. But, I trust my son can handle it. You’ll be okay.

The little bird stayed quiet. Bird mother saw his son eyes.

“I still remember my first experience when I flew by myself. That was the most unforgettable thing of my life. If I didn’t go back then, maybe I would never have you right now.”

The little bird smiled when he listened to his mother’s story.

             “Well, thanks to you that now I’m suddenly interested to know the world and thousand experiences that you’ve told me. Maybe my brothers and sisters see it right now. Maybe outside there, I can find what I really want.”
             “Ya, and now you’ll see it too. Come on! Fly! Live your life to the fullest. You’ll never regret it.”
             “Will I see you again if I go?”
             “Of course! You know where to find me.”
             “See you Mom. I love you.” The little bird hugged his mother.
             “I love you too.”
             The little bird spread his wings and flew to the sky. He laughed and enjoyed the excitement that he felt. Now, his story just began. What will happen next? It’s still a mystery.

Ceritaku di Bandara Juanda #KKN

Malang, 24 Agustus 2013 Mungkin apa yang aku ceritakan di sini menjadi pengalamanku yang pertama dan terakhir. Sebulan lamanya aku berada di tempat itu. Selama itu pula banyak hal-hal baru yang ku hadapi. Ya, pengalaman KKN atau bisa dibilang pengalaman magangku di Bandar Udara Internasional Juanda menjadi satu kenangan tak terlupakan yang ku alami tahun ini. Siapa yang menyangka mendapat kesempatan magang di Bandara Juanda akan membuka mataku seperti apa dunia lain itu. Hari Senin tanggal 01 Juli 2013, secara resmi aku telah masuk ke dunia kerja bersama dengan teman-temanku yang lain.
